We join the “El Primer Viaje” campaign another year
At ADRIAN Hoteles, we are proud to once again support El Primer Viaje, an initiative by the Cabildo of Tenerife that aims to protect Cory’s shearwaters during one of the most delicate stages of their lives: their first flight towards the sea.
When these birds leave their nests for the first time, they navigate by the light of the moon and the stars. However, artificial lighting can disorient them, causing them to fall or suffer accidents.
For this reason, between October 31 and November 11 — the most critical days, coinciding with the New Moon — ADRIAN Hoteles will reduce light pollution across its properties.
The main action will be turning off the lights on our tennis courts, as they are among the most reflective and could confuse the young birds on their journey to the ocean.
With this gesture, we once again help protect a species that is emblematic of the Canary Islands and reaffirm our commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism.
