[:es]No es la primera vez que os contamos (en realidad, nunca nos cansaremos de hacerlo) que Tenerife es un destino perfecto en cualquier época del año. También en diciembre, especialmente para aquellos que buscan escapar del frío invierno. Diciembre es un mes de reencuentros con familiares y amigos en un ambiente festivo y de celebración por una festividad, la Navidad, con la que la mayoría de nosotros disfrutamos como si fuéramos unos niños. Esta época habitualmente se asocia con un clima frío que implica llevar abrigos, gorros y bufanda.

Pero si hablamos de Tenerife (y de todas las Islas Canarias), la cosa cambia. Los 24 grados de temperatura media que alcanzamos en esta época del año son la excusa perfecta para vivir una Navidad diferente, con sol y playa pero sin renunciar a una festividad que nos encanta. 1. Visitar los tradicionales Belenes de Tenerife

Un buen plan para los amantes de los Belenes es conocer algunos de los municipios más emblemáticos de la isla a través de esta tradicional representación de la escena del nacimiento de Jesús en el portal de Belén. Algunos de los municipios que cuentan con los Belenes más espectaculares son Santa Cruz y La Laguna.

El Nacimiento gigante de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, obra del artesano Jesús Gil, se ubica en la entrada del Ayuntamiento, ocupando un total de 12 metros cuadrados de superficie y dos alturas. Una espectacular representación del nacimiento de Jesús que está acompañado, además, por un impresionante árbol de Navidad de cuatro metros y medio de altura. 

Y hablar de La Orotava en Navidad es hacerlo del municipio que organiza la mayor ruta de belenes: un total de 36 belenes conforman el tradicional itinerario, suponiendo récord de participación y que puede realizarse de forma guiada o individual y que incluye el belén gigante de la plaza del Ayuntamiento. Todo un referente de la Navidad en Tenerife, pues se estima que será visitado por más de 40 000 personas durante el periodo navideño.

2. Pasear por los mercados navideños y probar la gastronomía de Tenerife 

Además del espectáculo de Belenes, las calles de la isla cuentan también con amplios rastros y mercadillos de Navidad, donde podremos degustar lo más típico de la gastronomía tinerfeña. El producto estrella, como siempre, son las truchas canarias: un tipo de dulce con apariencia de empanadilla elaborado con almendras peladas, limón y azúcar glas y relleno de cabello de ángel o batata.

Y como plato de cualquier cena de Navidad en Tenerife no pueden faltar las tradicionales papas arrugadas con mojo acompañadas de los típicos quesos, denominación de origen de la isla. Y como plato principal, cualquiera que incluya pescado es éxito absoluto. En Tenerife es muy habitual el sancocho canario, a base de pescado hervido (el cherne canario es el pescado estrella) con papas, batata, gofio y mojo. 

Muy recomendable también es no perderse el Navilunio: más de 130 actividades musicales y diversas en diferentes puntos de la ciudad que tendrán lugar el día 28 de diciembre.

4. Disfrutar de la “nieve” en Tenerife 

En Tenerife no tenemos frío y nieve durante el invierno, pero sí que podemos recrearla. La isla cuenta con diversas actividades “invernales”: por ejemplo, el gran tobogán gigante de Navidad, instalado en la Avenida Marítima, frente a Plaza de España, recrea una montaña de nieve y cuenta con tres pistas de 35 metros de largo y casi ocho de alto.  

5. Conciertos y espectáculos de Navidad

Tenerife acoge numerosos conciertos y espectáculos para todos los públicos durante las navidades. Entre los conciertos más destacados, el de Navidad. Cada 25 de diciembre, la Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife ofrece, a las 21:00 horas en la Dársena de los Llanos del Puerto, el tradicional Concierto de Navidad de Puertos de Tenerife. 

Esta edición, la XXI, tendrá un marcado acento canario, ya que el grupo musical Los Sabandeños (uno de los más representativos de nuestro panorama musical) acompañará a la Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife. Esta edición permitirá también acoger a un mayor número de asistentes (hasta 30 000) y una mejor ubicación, permitiendo así disfrutar de unas mejores vistas para admirar el posterior espectáculo pirotécnico.  

6. Fin de año en Canarias

Y como no podía ser de otra manera, el fin de año en Canarias también se celebra por todo lo alto. Además de las típicas fiestas organizadas con música y cotillón, si realmente quieres vivir una Nochevieja totalmente diferente en el paraíso canario tienes planes a pie de playa: fiestas populares y espectáculos pirotécnicos junto al mar que podrás disfrutar en chanclas y pantalón corto.

Y para muchos, la noche acaba en el agua con el primer baño del año. Una costumbre que, tal y como se hace la noche de San Juan, está cargada de simbolismo y uno de sus objetivos es el de purificar el cuerpo y renovar energías. 

6. Cabalgata de Reyes en Tenerife

5. Christmas Concerts and Shows
