Tenerife is not just the sea. Get to know Mount Teide and the magnificent views around the island
Tenerife is famous for the variety of landscapes to be found in such a small area, from beaches and lush forests through incredible lava landscapes to the highest mountain in Spain.
Mount Teide stands in the island’s centre. On a clear day, all of the islands in the archipelago are visible from its summit. It is surrounded by mountains and seas of volcanic rocks.
The island's natural features are practically divided into two zones: the north, with the abundant green of the forests and the laurissilva woodland, and the south, a drier, rockier landscape.
