Rubén Cabrera and Jesús Gómez winners of the III National Gastronomy Contest
We are pleased to announce that Rubén Cabrera – the main chef of La Cúpula restaurant in our Jardines de Nivaria Hotel (Costa Adeje) – and Jesús Gómez are the winners for the second consecutive year of the III Certamen Nacional de Gastronomía (National Gastronomy Contest), organized by the Federación de Asociaciones de Cocineros y Reposteros de España (Federation of associations of Chefs and Confectioners of Spain).
In this third edition of this National Contest of Chefs, nine teams have participated from Aragón, Baleares, Canarias, Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura, Madrid, Navarra and Segovia. The teams had to prepare two dishes that the fundamental ingredients were tuna and black pig. To do this, they had four hours.
Finally the Cantabrian team finished second and Madrid was third. The jury gave the victory to the Canary team of our La Cúpula’schef Rubén Cabrera and Jesús Gómez.
According to Rubén Cabrera, the contest was “four hours of intense work, without Jesús and I could take a break. In the end everything was OK and we are very happy with the result, as it can not be otherwise. We hoped at least to repeat the success of the previous edition”.
